October 25th at OneFourOne (Overtoom 141, Amsterdam) Drop will be serving another exclusive beatcd.

Expect us with other producers from Belgium, Holland and Germany showcasing new beats.

The crowd chooses which beat they dig the most from each producer. After all producers got to do their thing, all the picked beats get compiled on CD. By the end of the same night, you go home with a beatcd put together à la carte on the spot!

There's an error in there though, we said Tom Simpson hooked us up with m3rck. This is false, it was actually Rob @ Multilink Magazine / Inmo Design that introduced us!!

Our mistake and apologies to Rob. He played a BIG part in the Sound Puzzle release as A&R agent / art director / project manager!

the Lucid Effect - out now

It's offical, thanks to Project: Mooncircle, our latest album the Lucid Effect is out now!

There's plenty of places to get a good taste of the album (snippets, music video, last.fm, ...)

Whether you're a 40 Winks-connoisseur or new to us, do yourself a favour and check out this new adventure.

And if that's not enough: for the next 13 weeks, starting in June, we'll be taking you on a journey throughout our album. Each week we'll post one track of the album in our MySpace player and give you the backstory to the song or any related anecdotes we can come up with on our MySpace blog..

Hopefully, we'll be able to convince naysayers and give fans an interesting insight into the album.

ps: We have already been getting questions from Europe to the US, whether the album will be available in their part of the world. Project: Mooncircle releases are carried by a wide range of distributors all over the world. So while we can't promise you your local record shop will stock the album, they won't have a problem ordering it for you on request!

The release of our new album "the Lucid Effect" is less than a month away (preorder @ hhv.de).

As a prelude to the album, we're proud to announce the music video for "Rap about that (smoke and mirrors)" directed by IWKN!

Drop & Laid Back teamed up for an event/showcase on May 2nd, at Kavka in Antwerp (Oudaan 14, 2000 Antwerp)

the Lucid Effect - coming soon

the Lucid Effect is the fresh new album of 40 Winks!

Having gotten the chance in the past, to do our thing on music labels who push a wide variety of style and genres different from ours (like Project:Mooncircle, m3rck and Little-D), these experiences have influenced us greatly.

For this album we have taken a break from the usual, and incorporated all these influences into our own sound. This time you should expect a 40 Winks album which colors outside the lines of instrumental hip hop.

The album will be released by Project: Mooncircle on CD and LP.
Project: Mooncircle has scheduled the release for May 30th 2008.
